When I got my first camera for Christmas I was 12 years old, and I opened the gift and thought, "What am I going to do with this?" It only took a couple of years before I had to upgrade and realized that a camera was the medium that I had been missing. Heidi Haines Photography has looked many ways over the years, and even had different names, but a friend asked me to take photos of her wedding when I was only 18 years old and I have been a photographer ever since. (I won’t tell you exactly how many years it has been since then, haha!) Photography is my favorite form of art and people are my favorite subject. I love taking photographs of people because pictures are a beautiful gift to life and memory. I love how a photograph can bring me a memory with such clarity. Capturing beautiful images of people, whatever the occasion may be, is priceless. 

 

My husband and I have two daughters and a son who mean the world to us. They are a regular inspiration for me to bring out my camera, I have so many pictures of them! Every time I see a beautiful sunset I feel nostalgic, and evening lighting is my favorite for photo shoots. I love color, and I am obsessed with the colors teal, turquoise, and coral pink right now. I love the beach, the first snowfall, and everything about Christmas. I adore Europe and travel is therapeutic for me - I’ve traveled to over 15 countries already and am looking forward to more travel in the future!  I write a lot, it's one of those things that I have to do. When I stop taking pictures I don't feel like myself anymore...so I hope you enjoy them!

 

If you follow me on social media, you might know that in my spare time I am getting my master’s degree in Clinical Counseling in Psychology and plan to be licensed as a therapist in the state of Minnesota in 2026! But, photography has been my first love, and will always be a part of my life - I am still booking sessions and weddings!!
